1. SEPTEMBER 20 SPEAKER MEETING – MENS HEALTH
Sunday, September 20th marks the start of our monthly speaker’s program. Join the Men of TAS at 8:45 AM in Activity Center 3/4 for a scrumptious breakfast typically consisting of bagels, lox, eggs, cookies, fruit, juice, and coffee/tea (donations appreciated). Our normal monthly meeting (d’var torah, introductions, and a review of upcoming activities), starts at 9:00 AM, followed by our speaker at 10:00 AM. This month, our topic is “Mens Health Issues”. As of press time, we are still awaiting the abstract and short bio from the speaker, Dr. Joshua Rokaw. The topic addresses health issue common to men, and of concern to men, as we progress through fatherhood into empty-nest-hood and the-kids-return-home-hood.
2. SEPTEMBER 27 SUKKAH BUILDING
The High Holiday means it is nearly time to build a Sukkah. Mark your calendar for the last Sunday in September, September 27th, at a special early time — 8:00 AM. That morning, we’ll gather together under the watchful eye (and voice) of our Sukkah Foreman, Robert Levin, to build our Sukkah. Bring your hex wrenches, zip-ties, wire cutters, and most importantly, gloves, and come out and help. I find this one of the most fun activities of the MoTAS year—men working together to build something. Come join us for the fun.
3. MOTAS LOGOWEAR AVAILABLE ONLINE
Did you know that the Men of TAS has a store where you can purchase a variety of items with the MoTAS logo. 4. FOOTBALL SQUARES – ALL SOLD
We are pleased to announce that as of Rosh Hashanah, we have a fully subscribed Football Squares board. This is great for the Temple, and it is great for all the participants. Watch your emails for game results, or monitor the results at http://squares.tasnorthridge-motas.org
5. THE KEY TO THE GOLF TOURNAMENT IS YOU
For months I’ve been exhorting you to help with the golf tournament. The committee is getting the sponsors lined up, and we’re filling the silent auction table. What we need now is YOU. We need you go take Monday, October 19th off and come out and play. We need YOU to talk to your friends and get them to come out and play on the course. A day on the course is a wonderful gift. It is a wonderful way to get to know potential clients and business associates better. Playing golf is a wonderful way to network.
We will only succeed with a large contingent of players. If you can, we urge you to come to the 2015 Annual MoTAS Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Calabasas Country Cluband play. The entry fee is $215 per player, and that includes a full day on the course as well as a continental breakfast, full lunch, and full dinner buffet, together with after dinner entertainment. Compared to similar events, this is such a bargain! You can sign up online at http://golf.tasnorthridge-motas.org.
