What better way to celebrate the start of summer than with our summer community Shabbat Bar-B-Que, which we call “Shabbabaque”  (click on the flyer to jump to online registration).

Shabbabaque starts with a service in the beautiful TAS sanctuary at 6:30pm. This is followed at 7:15pm by a delicious barbeque dinner.  Meat items will include turkey burgers, beef burgers, and hot dogs.  Vegetarian items will include vegetarian burgers, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad,  watermelon, and dessert. No payment is required for this event. However, registration is required prior to the event to ensure we purchase sufficient supplies.

Summer in the San Fernando Valley is hot! But the nights are pleasantly warm, and who wants to spend them worshiping in a stuffy building when one can worship out in nature, under beautiful trees. This desire to be out in nature during the summer is what led to the Shabbabeque, the outdoor summer Shabbat service with a barbeque dinner cooked by the Men of Temple Ahavat Shalom. This is the perfect way to enjoy a summer night with worship, great food, and incredible music.
