Shalom,

The Men of Temple Ahavat Shalom annual appeal season is upon us.

As a person who leads by example, I made my donation because I can see the benefit of a strong MoTAS for all of the TAS community and as the president of MoTAS it is my commitment to set that example.

This year we had our annual pancake breakfast on the first day of religious school.   I remember how happy it made one of our members because we provided gluten free pancakes for one of the students. He was happy because we made someone else happy. This sums up MoTAS.  [Also, the pancakes were really good.] You should come next year, even if you don’t have a child in religious school.

So, what else does MoTAS do?

• We build the sukkah for Sukkot.
• We contribute funds to help with the L’Taken trip to Washington DC.
• We help with landscaping and lighting needs for the temple.
• We have our monthly meetings. A time to see old friends and make new ones.  Our speakers cover an extremely wide range of topics.
• We host ShababbaQue (a Friday night barbeque).
• We sponsor Oneg’s on special occasions and help sponsor the Annual GALA, Cantor’s concert among others.
• We host a poker tournament
• This year we are also hosting the MRJ Western Region Man of the Year dinner.

Our biggest project for the year is still in progress. We have plans for landscaping improvements and are currently searching for a licensed and bonded landscaper for the job.

As president of MoTAS I’m asking you to please give to our annual appeal.

P.P.S. If you would also like to specifically support MoTAS in our temple beautification projects, the attached form has a segment for additional contributions to what we call “TAS Pride”. This money will go specifically for the further beautification of our temple buildings, grounds and play areas.  This year it will be used to help pay for the paint and tools for beautifying our security gates and the fencing along our parking lot.
