1. MAN OF THE YEAR DINNER HONORING FRANK SORONOW SAT MAR 2 / RSVPS DUE BY FEB 19

At the MoTAS Shabbat on January 11th, Frank Soronow was announced as the MoTAS Man of the Year. The MRJ Man of the Year Dinner, where our honoree will be feted, together with the honorees from other MRJcongregations from the MRJ Pacific Southwest region, is Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Temple Beth Hillel in Valley Village. The cost of the dinner is $40, and you can RSVP now by clicking here. RSVPS are due by Tuesday, February 19. (Return to Top)

2. SUPERBOWL SQUARES – THANKS FOR FILLING THE BOARD!

Thanks to all the folks who are participating in the SuperBowl squares game. The board is full, and with the Rams playing the Patriots, it should be an exciting game. We wish all of our participants luck. It will already be lucky for the congregation: bringing in $2500 to MoTAS and a similar sum to the quarter and final winners (in total).  MoTAS will put the money to good use.

3. FEBRUARY MEMBERSHIP MEETING – SUN FEB 10

The next monthly meeting of the Men of TAS will be on Sunday morning, February 10, 2019. For a change, this will be a normal meeting, with our wonderful MoTAS breakfast at 8:45am, followed by a short business meeting at 9am and an interesting speaker (who we hope to be able to announce next week). Please feel free to bring a potential active member with you to the meeting.

4. MEN’S SEDER PLANNING

Our annual Men’s Seder, which will be joint with Temple Beth Hillel and held at Temple Ahavat Shalom, will be Sunday, April 7. Mark your calendars now. We’re just starting the planning for this event, and are looking for volunteers to help prepare the traditional Seder foods: Charoset, Hard Boiled Eggs, etc. If you would be interesting in help with this event, please contact Daniel at faigin@cahighways.org. For the meal itself, we’re planning on bringing food in from Stonefire Grill — introducing the men of Temple Beth Hillel to our Men’s Seder tradition of BBQ and Ice Cream.
